Kathie, this is too cool...what a great way to check in with all of you and see what is happening! Maybe, North Carolina won't seem so far away now. I've yet to check out the Warlik (?) site, but will soon. I've spent my day (Sunday) in familar mode: working on school. I'm enjoying my job as curriculum coach - boy have I learned a lot this year! A teacher asks a question, but I can't give a simple answer: I have to research, distill the research into a practical application, put it in teacher friendly language and provide examples applicable to their grade level...way more than what they wanted, but my years in private education make me worry if I really know what I'm talking about, so I overdo. Not much has changed, has it? I'm having fun getting into the classrooms and actually teaching the "young-uns" (as they are actually referred to!) once in a while.

A Blogger - who would have thought!
After deleting Kathie's first attempt to get me in on this blog-thing, I am now on and ready to go! I echo Denise's words "Let me know how this thing works, so we can converse".

My first blog
OK, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do, but was so excited to be having a "conversation among friends" that I jumped on!
Let me know how this works, so we can "converse".

First Entry
Well, I was hoping Denise would be the first one to start us off, but she's not here and we need to get started. I'm hoing this will be a place for friends and others in the education field to have some lively discussions about what is happening in the field and maybe just what interests us at the time. After just returning from an ISLMA (Illinois School Library Media Association) conference in Springfield, I am so ready to talk with people about Information Literacy and David Warlick. I went to 3 presentations by him and was very impressed, which is what made me think to start this blog, create a Delicious Site for myself and look into Wikispaces. So I am on a roll, making myself busier than ever and loving it...Rigs
